The Jesus and Mary Chain are confirmed for the Coachella Festival in the US on April 27, 2007. It will be their first gig since 1998. The line-up will be: Jim Reid, William Reid, Phil King, Mark Crozer, Loz Colbert. Tickets go on sale this weekend.

Jim Reid's second single Dead End Kids is out now on Transistor and available from places like Amazon and the iTunes music store.

Earlier in the week the Jesus and Mary Chain won the MOJO Maverick award which was picked up at the ceremony by Jim. Congratulations!
On the recording front, Dead End Kids is expected to be released by Transistor in the UK on July 17, 2006. The single will also feature Dead End Kids (Demo Version) along with a cover of Bob Dylan's If You've Gotta Go. (which has been getting rave reviews from his recent live gigs).
The Freeheat album Back on the Water will be released next week on June 13. You can get it direct from Planting Seeds Records and they'll throw in a free badge. They'll also have t-shirts available soon.

The July issue of Mojo features a Beatles tribute CD with various artists recreating Revolver for the 40th anniversary of its release. Jim Reid has contributed a version of "And Your Bird Can Sing".
